Spumante, meaning "foaming" in Italian, represents a category of Italian sparkling wine crafted from various grape varieties. The incorporation of carbon dioxide imparts the distinctive effervescent sensation that defines spumante wines. This category encompasses a spectrum, including sparkling white wines produced from chardonnay or pinot grigio grapes, as well as sparkling pinot noir and sparkling rosé variations. These wines are produced using either the Champagne Method or the Charmat Method.
